Travel in Robert, our 1947 Wolseley 12/48, on a relaxed chauffeur-driven journey through wartime Ramsgate.
Discover the places, stories and characters that connect Ramsgate and Thanet with the Second World War, before finishing with a traditional cream tea.

The route
Ramsgate Royal Harbour
Discover the harbour’s connection with the evacuation of Dunkirk and the civilian Little Ships that crossed the Channel to bring troops home.
We’ll pass the entrance to the famous tunnels and share the story of the vast wartime shelter beneath the town, where thousands of local residents sought refuge during air raids.
Take in parts of the seafront and cliff-top areas associated with Ramsgate’s wartime defences and hear some of the stories connected with them.
Other 1940s Points of Interest
Depending on the route and time available, we’ll incorporate other locations and stories that help bring Ramsgate’s wartime past to life.
